Set up SoEasy for the First Time  
Setting up for the first time is a process of working methodically through a series of tasks.

Maintain SoEasy  
You must maintain your system to avoid issues.
SoEasy prompts you to perform simple maintenance tasks every 30 days and provides access to tutorials on how to perform the maintenance.

Send My Data Files To My Accountan  
The process of sending your data files to your accountant is easily achieved.

  • Make sure you arrange for you accountant to download a demo version of SoEasy (Download a Trial)
     
  • If you have a password set inside SoEasy, make sure to let your accountant know what it is

My 2008 version system won't update. How can I fix this?  
In some cases the update engine that updates SoEasy from the web will not work and the remedy is to re-install the update engine.

What computer system should I use?  
  SoEasy will operate on most PC based systems available during the previous 20 years.
  • SoEasy is a very compact program with the main program files being only 70 MB.
  • SoEasy will operate on any processor including 286 - 386 - 486 - P1 - PII - PIII - PIV -
    Dual Core - Quad Core.
  • A monitor that can be set to a resolution of 1024 * 768 or greater pixels is required.
  • Internet connection is required to work with our Web Integrated Support Centre (WISC).
  • Speakers or a head set is required to listen to the online video tutorials.
  • SoEasy integrates with Microsoft Office to provide immediate access to word documents, spreadsheets and email.
  • A PDF drive (which is available for download) should be used if you wish to email documents
    such as Quotes, Invoices and reports.
  • SoEasy will operate on most Windows platforms (see next topic), plus it can be run on a
    Mac PC if you use a third party Windows emulator.
  • A suitable A4 capable printer should be used such as an Inkjet or Laser printer. SoEasy
    will work with Dot Matrix printers but we recommend that you consider other printing methods
    as Dot Matrix tend to be noisy to operate and may not provide you with any specific advantages.
  • RAM is a key component to increasing the software speed. SoEasy will still operate on 4MB of
    RAM but we recommend a minimum requirement of 250 MB and an optimum of 1GB of RAM.
  • Antivirus products are essential for security of your PC. However, some antivirus products will affect system performance. We recommend NOD32 as the most appropriate Antivirus solution however, SoEasy will work with all other Antivirus products.

Networking

  • SoEasy is a very easy to set up and manage network product.  It can be simultaneously operated on up to 100 PCs.
  • We recommend that Microsoft Server 2003 be used where possible.

Remote Connection

  • SoEasy can be accessed through many different remote access products.

Laptops

  • Most laptops will operate SoEasy.

PDA

  • We have a special module (see Products - PDA Module) that allows you to operate SoEasy on a Portable Device. The device must have a Terminal Services utility and your Server must allow Remote Desktop Connections as found in Windows XP Professional, Server 2000, and Server 2003. Your server must also have a Fixed IP Address.

How do I set up SoEasy?  
 

SoEasy is very easy to install onto both a single user and network site and requires very little technical know-how.

We provide two main documents to assist:

1. Site Implementation Manual A check list and instructional guideline booklet covering the following topics:
  • Installing
  • Setting up
  • Importing Data
  • Training
2. Installation instructions Detailed step-by-step instructions and checklists on installing SoEasy to a single user and network site.

If you have any concern at all, you can arrange for one of our dealers or support staff to install the system for you.

We can even install to your computer system directly over the Internet as long as the PCs are connected to broadband.

What operating systems can SoEasy work on?  
 
Windows: 95 - 98 - 2000 - ME - XP - Server - Vista - (not the 64 bit version yet)

Note: SoEasy runs well on the new Microsoft operating system called Vista but there have been issues relating to some, but not all, Vista network installations where user privileges, at the Vista set up phase could not be configured to allow file sharing. This problem is outside of SoEasy's functionality and is an internal Vista issue that Microsoft are trying to resolve. This problem does not affect any other Version of Windows. If you have a choice between using XP and Vista, we recommend that you use XP until such times as the Vista issues are resolved by Microsoft.
 
Mac: Currently you require a Windows Emulator. Find out more
Linux: In current development.
Other: A Web based version of SoEasy is currently in development.

Which product should I buy?  
  Many businesses evolve into integrating the different SoEasy products as they expand and increase operational knowledge, or if their business operation changes. SoEasy has been designed as a software system so that you can upgrade to other versions without loosing any of your historical data.

Can I upgrade my product to the next version?  
  You can upgrade at any time to any other version of SoEasy without loosing any data.

Do I need a Support Contract?  
  A big part of feeling secure about using a critical product like an accounting program is to know you can get service and support when you need it. This is a very important part of your investment. So, in response, we have created a very special support service that quickly responds to our users' requests. We would like to encourage you to be part of the program so we have provided a very economical support contract, which you pay for on a monthly basis.

In being part of the support program, in accordance with our support contract policy, you receive:

  • Free support
  • Free yearly upgrades
  • Free online training

If you choose not to join a support contract, support is still available but is charged for when it is required. You will also be advised of the new yearly releases, which if you wish to participate in, will be charged for.

In general the yearly upgrade costs more than being part of a support contract so in reality, if you wish to keep your system up-to-date you may as well join a support contract and receive the free support as well!

How can I get training?  
  There are many ways to receive training including:
  • Online Video Training
  • Training Manuals
  • On-site training
  • Remote-Assistance training where we connect to your PC over the Internet and can show you how to perform tasks as well as talk to you at the same time. This is a very popular training method as we can deliver very economical sessions without having to attend your site.
  • Certified Training Courses - We also hold Certified Training Courses in groups of 5, where the participants can become Certified and receive a Diploma in SoEasyAccounting.

Can you recommend an Accountant?

Do you sell on Bartercard?  
  We are a member of Bartercard and provide our entire range of products on trade.

We are not re-sellers of hardware and neither do we repair or upgrade hardware components.
We only provide SoEasyAccounting. Service and Support contracts are not provided on Bartercard but upgrades are.
 
Can I become a Dealer or a Trainer?  
  We welcome any enquiry of this nature and have many people who make a comfortable living by providing such services to their business community.

This is an ideal position for anyone wanting a part-time or full-time career and substantial incomes can be made.
