Important Issues!

Many people are running LimeWire on their systems. Its a music download and sharing function. It is the sharing function that is the issue. A folder is set on your PC where music is stored. This folder is made available to all other users using LimeWire. Suddenly someone is downloading music files off your PC. Not a good performance scenario. Remove it.

Undelete Utility
You have three options on restoring data:
  1. Check the Trash icon for the deleted files
  2. Use the Restore Point function (Accessories - System Tools - System Restore)
  3. Use an undelete utility

Try this utility

Audio Test
To test your DirectX system, type dxdiag into the run command.

Snipped from a Tech Support reply pertaning to the same issue, it may help you get started:

The first thing I would suggest is to check for the availability of updated drivers for your video and sound cards. Having outdated drivers can cause conflicts within Camtasia Studio and is the leading cause of problems with the display of the Timeline.

A couple of other things to check that might be the root of the problem:

1. You should be running the current version of Microsoft's DirectX technology. You can check your DirectX version by running 'dxdiag' from the Start>Run menu. This will launch the diagnostic tool for DirectX which lists the version near the bottom of the first screen. You can download DirectX 9 from the following URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

2. You may need to turn off the hardware acceleration. If your version of DirectX is up to date, disabling the hardware acceleration may resolve this issue. To disable graphics hardware acceleration globally for all applications, right click on your dekstop and select Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot, on then slide the Hardware Acceleration slider to None and click Apply > OK.
